The Cobra Theater Company (CTC) will host a showcase on January 16, 2025, in the AMOSS Center. This exciting event will take audiences on a journey through the decades of theater, showcasing the hard work and creativity of the cast and crew.
Producing a show is a collaborative effort requiring coordination between cast and crew. The cast brings the story to life through acting, singing, and dancing, while the crew ensures seamless execution behind the scenes. Emily English, an 11th-grade Culinary student and cast member, explained, “This showcase is groundbreaking and truly unique. It’s the first time CTC has done something like this, allowing us to take artistic control. Our chosen theme reflects our personal journeys and growth, using Broadway music as a powerful outlet for expression. I can’t wait to see how it all comes together!”
Theater crews include tech, build, and stage teams, each playing a vital role. The tech crew manages projections, lighting, and sound. Niko Mufareh, an 11th-grade CADD student, shared, “I design and select backgrounds for the projector during the show. I’m excited to see the variety of songs performed and to create complementary visuals.”
Build and stage crews focus on creating and managing set pieces. Aubrey Spells, a 12th-grade CADD student, reflected, “As build crew manager, I oversee everything created and ensure safety in the storage room. Watching the elements of theater blend into one production is always amazing. This year, I’m excited to make lasting memories with CTC before I graduate.”
This showcase prepares CTC for their spring musical, Matilda, featuring songs from The Greatest Showman, Annie, and Legally Blonde. Join us in supporting the talented Cobra Theater Company!
