The HTHS boys’ volleyball team won 3-0 in the county championships against North Harford. Led by team captions Saxon Fuller and Samuel Thomas, the boys had a fantastic season, finishing the season completely undefeated!
This game felt so important for the boys on the team. Last year they had just barely lost the championship and felt the need for a comeback. North Harford was also their biggest competitor this season, them being the only team able to put up more than three sets against them. The team was very senior heavy, with seven graduating this year, most of them starters. So, it was a sentimental event for them.
The boys were up from the start, however, they never let lowered the energy or effort; Rory Jenkins, a middle hitter said, “we made it a point to not take our foot off the gas.” The game was very high energy with an electric crowd and a cheering bench. The team was as one and closer than ever before. Some think it was the best game Harford Tech has ever played.
We asked the coaches of the boys’ volleyball team how they felt about this big win. Coach shelly, the JV coach, spoke for both her and Coach Gary, The varsity coach. She said “We are extremely proud of their hard work, dedication, and true determination. The skies the limit for these boys!!!”
We could not be more proud of our boys’ volleyball team as they finished the season with an undefeated record of 16-0. They have worked so hard, and it has definitely paid off. We hope they all enjoyed their season. They all deserve a big congratulations.
