Recently, a zoology trip across the county left a truck carrying various animals, such as Red Pandas, Cheeta cubs, and Chinchillas, ended up tipping over on I-95, causing twenty of they previously named animals to escape from their carriers and race onto the highway, wanting to stop and say hello to the passing cars. Thankfully, drivers were sane enough to stop, but due to the animals on the road and the police’s weak attempt to corral the animals, traffic was backed up for over two hours while zoologists and hunters rounded up the animals.
Much to the public’s happiness, passengers in the stopped cars were able to take pictures of many of the baby animals, including Koalas, Red Pandas, and even a baby Gorilla, which is seen being cradled in a handler’s arms. Our local Harford County news stations also did an interview with the handlers of the cute animals, where they talked about the daily lives of the animals and their attempts at getting them off of the highway; click HERE to view the interview.
